In fall of 2010, I stumbled across Maggie‘s blog, found her Mighty Life List, and was inspired (as have been many folk) to create my own. Voici.
- See the Northern Lights
- Travel New Zealand (yeah!!)
- Make a quilt
- Learn ASL
- Visit Israel
- Grow my own potatoes
- Have kids (one day)
- Build myself a potting bench (myself!)
- Horse-back riding out West (can be US or Canada — I don’t care)
- Go camping for more than a weekend
- Institute the tradition of Christmas morning
cinnamon bunsmonkey bread - Attend a Solstice party, complete with naked dancing (uh, preferably summer solstice, but hey, an adventure’s an adventure)
- Learn to kayak respectably (rolling and all)
- Enter something into the local fair’s Kitchen Sciences competition
- Go to a barn dance (or ceilidh)
- Learn to shoot a bow and arrow
- Make bread regularly enough that we stop buying the commercial stuff.
- Do a tour of China — including the crazy Western deserts
- See Tibet (and yes, if necessary, Nepal would be an okay substitute)
- Get over my irrational phobia of speaking in French to The Boy’s family (although I’m okay around his nieces and nephews)
- Go to Morocco
- Wear a kimono with properly-tied, full-length obi
- Make one pottery piece that’s worth keeping around
- Give 10% or more of my salary to charity
- Finish one of my NaNoWriMo novels
- Paint something (arty, not a wall) together with The Boy
- Audition for a role in community theatre
- Make sushi for dinner sometime
- Find a local place to swingdance (and go)
- Bake more celebration cakes
- Attend a fancy charity gala
- Visit Egypt (specifically, Alexandria)
- Go snorkeling with The Boy
- Zip-line through a canopy
Visit PEI (seriously)- Do five respectable pullups
- Make croissants that aren’t weapon-grade (just once!)
- Learn conversational Spanish
- And Mandarin (and enough to read a menu in traditional, damnit)
- Finish Chibi-Robo
- Teach a class (in anything)
Visit Chicago- Learn to use my damn camera
- Do a walkover again (front or back; my money’s on front though)
- Make a skirt (or dress) that I love
- Make the Army Run a yearly thing
- Learn to skate well enough to play hockey (not competitively)
- Hang out with the girls more often
- Stick with the Daring Cooks (or Bakers) challenges for a solid year
- Look through a telescope and see a planet
- Knit through my stash
- Eat pears (and make cidre) from our tree
- Cross-continent road-trip with The Boy (I’m thinking here to Mexico)
- Buy cowboy boots
Drive a 4-wheelerBuy my meat directly from farmers- Go hang-gliding
Reduce my wardrobe to about half of what it is now- Learn to style my own hair, damnit
- Take tap lessons
- Create a repository of my favourite recipes
- Banish plastic bags from our home
- Redo this blog’s stylesheet
- Do Something that helps people out, regularly
- Give martial arts another chance
- Put on a puppet show
- Learn to navigate by the stars
- Visit the Mediterranean

- Be a cartoon (or game) voice
- Do more charity knitting

- Go fishing with The Boy (or ice-fishing!)
- Complete a year of p365
