So it occurred to me that it had been awhile since I had last photographed (i.e. made) a really nice-looking bento lunch. The prose lover in me very much wanted to put “really spectacular bento” in that last sentence, but let’s be honest now: very few of the bento I make are worthy of an adjective of that sort of magnitude. With that said, though, since tonight’s dinner was Fake Jap Chae*, I did have a goodly number of separately-cooked, very pretty and (spectacularly?) colourful components to group together.
So I did!
* Although I think I got the general seasoning flavours right, I didn’t have any glass noodles, so dinner was served over eggy mein instead. (Because no matter what else I might run out of, you can bet that I will have dried soup noodles on hand.)
I know, I know. I come out of hibernation for this? Expect a Solstice/Christmas/year-end wrap-up in the next couple days.
