I’ve quite possibly lost my mind.
After all of this knitting excitement, and plotting, and self-assignation of monthly tasks, I signed up for Casey‘s 40’s-style dress sew-along:
What? I’ll still have time to knit, and do my yoga (ahem, and laundry), and start those seeds for next year, and shower, and… alright. I know. I’ve lost my mind. Good thing The Boy is pretty much building that bar by himself (I keep offering my help, but he keeps saying he’s got it covered) because apparently there’s no end to what I’ll pile on myself craft-wise this year.
I am actually super excited about this (I’ve been eyeing that dress since the second one she made and showed off on her blog), and have decided to make this all work in my favour by adapting it to create the costume for my Roaring 30s party in early March. I’d originally wanted something in a sort of navy blue drapey fabric (jersey maybe?), but that won’t work for what I have in mind for the party.
This way, I get a “practice round” in (yes, I know we’re creating muslins; nonetheless) for the costume dress, then, assuming I like the way the dress looks on me, I can make myself another one (all by myself this time!) in whatever fabric I want.
Two goals in one: a costume for my party and a boost to get over my garment-sewing chickenness!
