If my theme-swapping of late has been annoying you, I apologize. I actually really liked the blue one, but its limitation on photo sizes (and thus the crappy, grainy look of the compressed ones that ended up posted) was driving me crazy.
(Side-rant: I don’t know why web designers tend to favour narrow, long formats for things on-screen. I’m sure there must be an aesthetic reason — maybe it’s to prevent wordy entries from overwhelming people with a screenful of text? Whatever the reason is, I dislike that look. Why? Because it means I end up with less than half the screen’s width to post pictures in. And apparently I am prematurely my grandma because when I look at pictures, especially pictures of people? I want to SEE them. Wider than 600px, damnit. ARGH.)
Anyhow. That prompted several long minutes of scrolling through WordPress’s theme gallery, and some quick experimentation with 6 (no, I’m not kidding; some were very quick) different themes.
The result? I’m still not happy.
The long and short of it is that I’m buying the CSS upgrade and will mod either this theme or my previous blue one until I am happy. Uh, which given my past relationship with CSS (read: perfectionistic nit-picker) might be a little while.
…but at least any pictures I post will be big and clear?
