I’m having something of a dilemma here.
You might remember that I am a pop culture ignoramus. This is due in large part (or so I think, anyway) to the fact that I really don’t watch tv. I’ll watch a hockey game with The Boy on occasion, although if I have it my way, as soon as ads (umm, or Don Cherry) come on, I hit the mute button for a couple minutes of silent knitting before resuming the show. I will often flop in front of the tv if I have a spare half hour and watch a portion of a movie (or the whole thing if it’s Top Gun, apparently), but there aren’t really all that many shows that I really care to watch.
Up until December of last year, there was only one show I actively followed: House. Even then, I didn’t hold out Monday nights to watch it; I watched via pvr (enabling me to catch up on both past seasons as well as the current one) and I could happily breeze through all the ads. December, of course, brought with it my exposure to Glee.
These days, with the running around after the puppy, housework that comes with springtime, and the cumulative month of insufficient sleep, I haven’t had much time at all to couch potato and clear off the pvr’s accumulated episodes.
So what’s happened? My House-watching has dropped significantly, and I’ve managed to watch Glee while it’s airing instead. And do you know what? I don’t even really miss House.
* shock *
I feel so traitorous writing that out, but it’s true. The dynamic between his team just isn’t as good these days, and it seems obvious that wishing for him and Cuddy to get together is not only futile, but selfish. She’s definitely better off with Lucas.
Anyway. Starting, well now, since it’s May, Mondays are really not a good night to devote to tv anyway (despite the fact that, as I said, I pvr everything) since dragonboat season will be starting. It just makes sense for me to shift allegiances over to Glee, right?
